Tuesday, March 31st

It's cold and miserable here in the good old Midwest, but since we're inside all day--why not introduce some spring?
The shirt is from Baby Gap's Villa line and the skinny jeans and white undershirt are basics from Baby Gap. Skinny jeans are a must for spring, they're too cute under long shirts! The white bow is from Pink Hippo and the shoes are See Kai Run's (Geneva). You know the drill with accessories, and yes I need to branch out. Off to etsy.

Monday, March 30th

Today Riley accompanied Mommy & Daddy to Pottery Barn, Best Buy and Target to get a couple household necessities. Since she was originally hanging out in the house in some brand new summer MJ, it was necessary to change into something a tad warmer which happened to be more Matilda Jane. This is the celery Elania tunic with the Abbi knot dress thrown over it. She is wearing an old pair of footless leggings and her pink Converse hi-tops. Her hair was in piggies with bows at some point today, but the minute she becomes tired--the bows go and the feet go up on the anywhere chair. Big sigh, what an exhausting life this little tot has.

Sunday, March 29th

My name is Allie and I'm an MJ-aholic. Man, it's good to get that out. We recieved our Hotline goodies in the mail yesterday, and today was my mom's birthday party so I figured it was a good enough reason to take the Phyllis (dress) for a spin. Since it was a little chilly, we threw some Big Brown Ruffles underneath and called it cute. She is wearing the super adorable bow from LittleBeautyBoutique again--it's a new fave.
The Phyllis is a little baggy up top, but too cute to disregard because of a little sizing issue. This was my must have from Hotline, and now I know why. Oh, it is love.

Friday, March 27th

Another junk pic today, man I miss my Nikon.
Wearing the last of our barely fitting winter, this is a Janie & Jack gem I barely put her in this year regardless of how much I originally loved it. The top is actually from Fancies of Fall and the skirt and boots are from Winter Jewels. Normally, the WJ sweater would be over the FOF shirt and no one would notice anything, but today it is almost 60 I believe and just way too hot for a wool sweater. The headband is from Pink Hippo's early days, when the original owners were around and everything was so new and adorable. Ah, how I miss that feeling.
I really just want my new Matilda Jane to get here today. Yesterday was our anniversary and it has set me in a funk that will not be cured until I have that package in my hands. Yes, shopping cures everything!

Thursday March 26

The camera is with Andrew's parents today as they try to sell the cars, so I'm stuck with a crappy cell pic due to the fact that my point and shoot died. Boo!
Today she is wearing Gymboree Lots of Dots. The jumper and onesie is visible, but the jeans are not. This is the last time she will wear this outfit as it is just too darn small now--we're trying to make it through the last couple weeks of winter! The bracelet is from Gemstone eyeBead.
We had our first small town grocery shopping experience today. Note to self: my version of "dressing down" is not quite down enough, we were stopped in every aisle. :)

March 23, 2009

It was about 70 today, so we tried the Bettie by Matilda Jane on without the extra layers. Result=love. It's super wide, but the cinched waist creates an adorable silhouette that I just can't get enough of! She is wearing a Pink Hippo toddler bow and her See Kai Run Geneva's.

Sorry for the awful pic today, the camera is MIA among the boxes.

Wednesday, March 25th

I've spent the entire day gushing about this flower headband. I even told the biology head about it, because it's THAT cute. Yes, I am a nerd, and yes I am obsessive. But I want you ALL to run to http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5623647 and look at her beautiful variety of beanies and headbands with flowers PERFECT for spring. Not only are they absolutely beautiful, they are put together wonderfully and her customer service is BEYOND exceptional. And the price? Phenomenal. Less expensive than many boutiques and for the quality of the product, I was extremly pleased with what I paid. I couldn't have asked for a better Etsy experience. This headband recieved compliments galore and I know I will be ordering more very soon :)
The rest of the clothes are oldies but goodies. Gap's Boho Baby shirt and embroidered jeans with her infamous Geneva's (See Kai Run). She is "modeling" (one of my many loose terms) in front of my new bedroom wall. Today's activities included being watched by Grandma and Fifi while Mommy was in lab and going shopping for her "Little Monster" shirt at Gap, you know--the one they designed specifically for Riley :p

Tuesday, March 24th

Horrible picture, I know. This is taken in Riley's new (unfinished) room though--woohoo! Today she stayed at home with something comfy. This isn't a public outfit anymore for 2 reasons: 1. People ALWAYS call her a boy when she wears it. It NEVER FAILS. Yes, even with the bow. 2. I just don't like it on her. I don't know why, the pieces seperately or with other MJ are awesome, but together they are just so BLAH.

This combo is the Holly Hoodie & Brown Big Ruffles by Matilda Jane. Bow from Pink Hippo.

Playing catch-up....

Let me preface by saying I have had a VERY busy week. We moved and are still in the process of sorting everything out of boxes and painting. We took a two day trip to St. Louis that only put the process further behind, but I did take 3 fashion log pictures during this time. I'm back now! :)
These are out of order I think. The one in the middle is from our first day in the new place. It's the Janie & Jack Penguin Winter dress and tights that I love so much with her Clara See Kai Run's.
The right pic is from St. Patty's Day, it was so nice out that I was pretty unprepared for 70 degree weather AND green, so thank goodness I had this gem hiding away :) It's the Matilda Jane damsel in a dress with the Betsy apron. This dress runs really small (this is a 4!) but it's so simple and cute. Paired it with the Clara's again, but later changed into the Genevas--the red just looked better with this set.
Now for the far left, great picture huh? This was right before naptime. She's wearing Janie & Jack Uptown Holiday with red target knee highs and shoes. The knee highs just weren't working well for us this day and the outfit is just a mess but it's normally to die for cute haha.

March 12, 2009

Hi, I'm Allie and I'm a knee sock addict. And I love Janie & Jack. This is one of my favorite outfits from J&J ever. I looked for this darned outfit for almost a year and am so glad with the end result. Peter pan collar, sweater dress and knee highs? Oh, yes, my friend. These things are what an outfit makes. The shoes are from Target. I guess I love Target shoes too, huh? See Kai Run is my favorite shoe brand, but well, I'm not a millionaire. But they are having an awesome sale ending today--I suggest you all stock up! ;)

That first contest is now deemed unsuccessful. Guess everyone is stocked up on coupons? I'll think of something better for next time.

Riley's room is almost empty now. Tonight is her last night sleeping in her room. So bittersweet, but her new pink and brown room is waiting and after this weekend she'll be snug in her new house. Yes, I called it her house. Anyone who has met her knows why I refer to it as this haha :)

An outfit and a Contest

Today's outfit is a little mix of everything good. Bowband made by me, t-shirt from Target, dress is the Matilda Jane Lil Apple knot, tights are Mini Boden and the boots are the good old beat up Target boots we love so much. I have a "bad habit" of mixing MJ with anything. And everything. I love Matilda Jane you could say. Which is something you wouldn't have heard me say a year ago--but alas, I am now a fan. Or obsessee. I just think it fits Riley's personality so well.
Anyway, on to the important junk. Now that I have my ten requirement--it's time for the contest! I tried to think of something really cool, but I think you'll have to stick it out with me to get to that point--they will get cooler in the future, I promise. ;) But at this time I'm offering up my Gap Give & Get online one time use coupon code to the third comment poster. :) If everyone has one, I'll send out a Gymbo code/in store coupon. Good luck and thanks for subscribing! :)

March 10, 2009

Today's outfit is what happens when you let your 21 month old insists on wearing her favorite cheap Gymboree "jewelery" and random leggings with the outfit Mommy chose. The bow is from Pink Hippo, I chose. The undershirt is from Target and the Matilda Jane Yama in Coco was also my choice. Riley decided she wanted Carters leggings and her Sweeter Than Chocolate necklace and bracelet on. They kind of match, but since we're staying home I'll allow it ;) She's getting better with looking at the camera at least.

March 9, 2009

Back to rainy and gloomy in Iowa, just the way I like it. Today Riley ran around in only a diaper until I returned home from school at 3pm. The horror! So I stuck her in a favorite from Gymboree's Sweeter Than Chocolate line. The boots are the infamous, overworn, beat up Target boots and the bows were given to us by the ever so sweet Sara. They are a great match, and very well made. Sara has to be the biggest sweetheart I know, and Riley agrees. Thank you for our new bows, Sara! :)

Only 4 more subscribers until the first contest. I am brewing it as we speak :)

I know I do! And as a bribe to read my blog and comment, I will start some fun giveaways when I have 10 subscribers.

I know, I'm begging for attention and affection, I call myself out on it.

Some new changes to the blog will be:
*Giveaways when the numbers are right ;)
*Product reviews, feel free to email me if you'd like me to review your toddler/baby/girly product. :)

March 7, 2009

Anyone who reads this blog regularly knows that I did not pick out this ensemble. While cute in it's own way, I'm not a fan of velour "track suits", unless their Juicy Couture. The entire pink mixed with heart print thing throughout is not really my thing either. But this was what she wore when she arrived from her grandparents and we are grateful for whatever clothes they buy her. Her entire family is very generous with buying her clothes and toys, so I try not to complain about the outfits that are not my style. :)
I'm pretty sure it's OshKosh, but the clippie is from Happie Mommie clippies again. Heather sent this to us for free with our order, she is very generous like that and takes a lot of time to create her felt works of art. I need to order again soon. :)
I guess the moral of todays outfit is "love the free things in life".

March 6, 2009

Today it was very spring-like out. I say spring-like because everyone knows winter doesn't officially end in Iowa until May. Mother nature likes to swoop in with some sunshine before hitting us upside the head with a blizzard. I've come to expect this.
I didn't expect us to have only one spring outfit when the weather hit 60 degrees. Whoops. Good thing we have some Matilda Jane on the way! Riley is wearing her one spring outfit, from Baby Gap, purchased yesterday when I had that "oh crap, she needs something lighter to wear for when it's 60 degrees out" moment. It's a cute peasant-ish flowy top with a turquoise tank and chambray jeans. Bow from Pink Hippo. I really love this on her. Know what else we love? Cookies. And comments. You can pick which one to send ;)

Ode to the Fiona in Knit by Matilda Jane: Oh, Matilda Jane, you've made me clinically insane. For I love this top so much, I want to marry it.....er, a bunch.
Well that's as far as my poetic "skills" (or lack thereof) go, but I truly love this peasant. It works as a baby doll dress/top now and will work for a couple years to come as a shirt. Yes, it was expensive, but it is an INVESTMENT. And too die for cute with Target leggings & boots and a flowerband made by a lovely designer who is not longer in my area. In my humble opinion, Riley rocks the MJ. Hard.

March 4, 2009

This is our second outfit of the day, the first she destroyed before I was able to even get a camera out. Thank you, Coffeemate. This is from Gymboree's Valentine line, and yes, I am aware that it's not Valentines Day or close to it even. This was just one of those things I found in the closet new with tags too late in the game. Since we're just staying home and resting her foot, it works. Necklace is from Gymbo's STC line and the bracelet was made at a shop in Valley Junction.

The first picture depicts life with Riley. She is into EVERYTHING and finds a new way daily to frustrate me, but I still love her unconditionally.

March 3, 2009

It's always one thing after another isn't it? We just conquered pink eye and we were back at the doctor today for stitches. Miss Riley is a little strong-willed, to say the least and today she threw a mirror on her foot and the wood part cut her poor little toe :( Six stitches.

It's not unseasonably warm or anything today, I just threw on the outfit closest to the door which happened to be this Carters dress. Paired with a Pink Hippo bow and Janie & Jack boots and it works in an emergent situation.

March 2, 2009

THE PINK EYE IS GONE! WOOHOO! Guess I was right about it being viral. Ahem.
Anyway, this outfit is from the Gap Outlet. It's Crazy Stripes, a line I love and wished would come to outlet for months. I'm a little obsessed with stripes. And polka dots. If you haven't noticed... The bow is from Pink Hippo and the boots with the fur are from Gymboree. The purse she is swinging is also from Gymboree, but from last years Tennis Match line. I could go on and on about how much I love skirts with striped tights, but I will spare you all. Just know that I LOVE LOVE LOVE those kind of combos. Sadly, this is the last time for this combo as the sweater is too short. She's outgrowing everything, where is spring??
I'm considering doing coupon/clothes/bows/etc giveaways. Drop me a line and tell me what you think about that or what kind of giveaways you would like to see on the blog--and tell your friends! :)

March 1, 2009

Today the little stinker's pink eye appears to be improving, but it will be nice to go to the optometrist tomorrow for peace of mind. She has basically been quarantined all weekend, which was awful on all three of us! Moving, studying and tending to a toddler with pink eye on your "day off" from it all can be a bummer. But my little sickee needed Mommy. :)

Todays outfit is from Gymboree's Winter Snowflake line. The tunic is actually a size 4--but it was the only one left at the $4.99 sale and boy am I glad we got it! We've worn this three times, which is more than a lot of other outfits, because it's so comfy and cute for being home with the sniffles. And Riley LOVES the pockets.
She was wearing pigtails, but as you can see her hair is a little bit of a mess here. Can't expect too much of her today.
