Wednesday, April 29th

My camera was not my friend today. I know that's something kindegarteners say, but that's the level of frustration I reached. I charged my battery, and something was still up. I think Riley played with the buttons and messed with the ISO.
At any rate, here is today's outfit. Final wear from the Boho Baby top that I love oh so dearly. She usually wears it with the boho embellished jeans, but they no longer fit. The headband is from the fabulous LittleBeautyBoutique and the shoes were Miss Riley's pick. I put the See Kai Run Geneva's on her only to find them off her feet in a matter of minutes alternated with these uncomfy, a little too big shoes from Target. It was a little chilly for sandals, but since it was a sick day I caved.

Tuesday, April 28th

I made time to get a really cute pic today for the blog, but my camera conspired against me and the battery died right after this shot. :/
Today's outfit is from Baby Gap, including the new sandals Miss R is obsessed with. The bow is from Pink Hippo.

Monday, April 27th

Today's outfit was interesting.... Definitely not something I would put her in to leave the house since the leggings turned out to be much more see through than I thought, but it was a cute play set. The shrug is from The Children's place from back when I bought it in every color, the shirt from Gymboree-- an Easter gift from her grandparents, and the leggings she has now had for a year and a half. They are size 12 months I'm pretty sure, which would account for their see throughness I suppose. Definitely time to pitch them. The clip you can't see was a freebie from Jessica of LittleBeautyBoutique on etsy. It was a perfect match to the blue of the shrug.

Friday, April 24th

Riley was off to daycare today in some new Janie & Jack that Grandma brought home from Arizona. It was so hot today, I almost wish I had a pair of shorts for her to wear, but this worked for today. She is wearing a bow from Pink Hippo and some cheap Target shoes as well. I was so unprepared for 88 degree weather so Drew and I went baby shopping for shorts and sandals tonight.

Thursday, April 23rd

My child chooses to pose when there are other people around only. She is a true performer and drama queen, I think she may become quite the little actress to my sincere discontent.

Here she is "modeling" some new Matilda Jane. The shirt is the lacey tank and the bottoms are called the Dottie Ruffles. Beautiful combination. She is also sporting a bracelet made by my aunt for her and the cutest flowerband we own from LittleBeautyBoutique on etsy. If you have yet to order from her, do it soon! Summer wardrobes are incomplete without at least one!

Wednesday, the 22nd & Tuesday the 21st

Sorry, I have been a bit behind and in a funk being sick and trying to just get school over with before final grades and finals! I forgot until the end of both days to take the pic, so they're not great but they show what she wore, which I guess is the point :)

This was Tuesday. We were just hanging out at home with the new kitty, Leo, so I threw on some things I wouldn't cry over if they became destroyed by the furocious 8 week old beast. The shirt is from Baby Gap and it is the most befitting shirt I have ever laid eyes on for my child. I threw on some Matilda Jane Olive Juice ruffles to make a funky look, it tied together cutely with a bow, but since she was home with daddy all night while I was in class, the bow disappeared before I could take a pic.

Today was HOT! In Iowa! Finally! 80 degrees? It's time to bust out the sleeveless dresses! Our first summer beauty is the highly sought after Enchanted Butterfly dress from Janie & Jack. It truly is a beautiful little number, and paired with a large butterfly bow with her name in it and her Princess Lelli Kelly's (her pick, not mine, she's all about "PICK" these days), I think it was a success. At least the people at the town grocery store thought so. :)

Thursday, April 16th

We had a little "birthday photoshoot" that didn't turn out as planned. Miss Riley was very uncooperative and it was frustrating, to be honest. So this is labeled failed attempt #1 at her 2nd birthday pictures. There are more, and some better, but this is her fashion blog, so here are the best pics of the outfit of the day :) This is the Matilda Jane Katie Lou (original) that I absolutely adore. We paired it with the MJ aqua ruffle leggings and it was a little colder than expected, so we threw on a shrug from the Children's place. I'm pretty sure it's the first item we've owned from there ever! The flowerband is from LittleBeautyBoutique and the shoes are her infamous Princess shoes, by Lelli Kelly. No, I don't think they're really called the Princess shoe, but Riley says it so, so it is.

Wednesday, April 15th

Sorry for the lousy pic, this is an "end of the day" shot taken right before she changed into PJ's.
Riley was off to Grandma's and then the mall with me to run an errand in this outfit from Gymboree's daisy line. It's the first, and last time she'll get to wear this outfit because my mom bought the pants a size too small :( The clip was made by Heather Gayle (HeatherGayle on GF.com) of Happie Mommie Boutique, very adorable clip. Shoes are her "Princess shoes"(Lelli Kelly)....and apparently the only acceptable shoes to leave the house in now. I've created a monster.

Tuesday, April 14th

Today is my catch-up day. I'm finishing (also known as starting) a paper for class tonight and cleaning the house. Riley wanted to wear her butterfly pants today, and I was in no mood to argue. As you can see, they are still a little big, but big is better than teeny tiny itsy bitsy winter clothes! This set is from Gymboree's Social Butterfly line.

Monday, April 13th

I'm so over this up down weather. Here is another barely fitting winter outfit, the top is from Mini Boden--my favorite Boden top EVER--and the pants are from Gymboree's Valentines line. They have the Boden-eque heart pockets and matched the red in the shirt so it will work for hanging around the house with Daddy. Throw on a flowerband from LittleBeautyBoutique (on etsy, look her up she is awesome) and her See Kai Run Geneva's and it's ready to be seen in public. By it, I mean the outfit, not my kid. ;) And again with the smiles when the lighting is bad and the outfit isn't my favorite. Rotten toddler. :D

Sunday, April 12th

Today's ensemble is from Baby Gap. This dress is absolutely beautiful, and while the sweater is still a little big I think it's a nice pairing since the weather decided to take a turn today....again. The shoes are last years Janie & Jack white espadrilles. These shoes are basically worthless as they didn't stay on worth a darn. They are a size small, but they worked for today and now they shall not see the light of day until they are re-homed. The bow is Pink Hippo's toddler bow. Happy Easter!

Friday, April 10th

Hooray for some spring like weather....FINALLY! Today she was off to daycare in this little Ralph Lauren polo dress I scored at TJ Maxx for $9.99. RL Polo is just so classic, and it's not over the top unlike some of her other spring items to come, making it perfect for playing around at daycare. This ensemble did have a green waist belt at one point, but the darn thing wouldn't stay up so it was quickly forgotten. Riley wanted to "pick shoes" today, so of course she chose the brand new Lelli Kelly's that she wouldn't leave Von Maur without. They are the Kate style I believe? Not sure, but they were the only ones avaliable in her size unfortunately. She's also sporting a stage 1 bow from Pink Hippo, as well as one of her beloved "baset-ballzzz".

Thursday, April 9th

So I bought this beautiful fancy silk dress that I thought was so cute that I would let Riley wear it just out to the mall and whatnot all the time. I would get SO much use out of it. Did I? Absolutely not. This would be the second time ever that she wore it. Guess what? It's also the last. Dry clean clothes and toddlers? Not a great combo! The fact that it's a sleeveless dress kept me away from it basically all season as well. If the brown Target boots were the best buy of the season, I think this dress may have very well been the worse. It's from Gymboree, and I bought it full priced. Don't worry, I've already kicked myself bruised over it.
The sweater and the leggings are from Baby Gap. She is wearing her tall Uggs and a basic bow from Pink Hippo after she lost the matching silk bow at the mall.

Wednesday, April 8th

On Wednesdays, I have bio lab and Riley goes to her grandmother's for a few hours. I never know what they will do or how dirty Ri will get so I have to pick an outfit that is cute for public, yet can withstand dirt and dogs. The dress is Matilda Jane's Pinkie Lap dress paired with some Babies R Us leggings I bought two years ago. Throw on a simple bow and some brown Converse and she's good to go!

Tuesday, April 7th

No, it has not become drastically warmer in the midwest, but I believe it's 50 today, and since we're inside all day and winter clothes are becoming too small....we threw on a brand new outfit from Baby Gap. No idea of the line name and honestly, I didn't love it to begin with. But I had a coupon, and well, you know how that goes. I actually LOVE this combo together now. So young and vibrant, perfect for spring!
This shirt runs TINY, by the way. Riley wears a 2 and this shirt is a 3, she could probably have even went up to the size 4! The capris are size 2 and a beautiful fit. Of course we had to get the matching braided headband too, if only to validate Andrew's view of Riley's "hippie" clothing. This was our convo at Gap last night. Andrew: "Doesn't she already have that outfit from Matilda Jane?" Me: "Drew, it looks nothing like Matilda Jane." Andrew: "Well, it looks like hippie clothes like Matilda Jane." Me: "But it's cheaper." ANdrew: "Sold."

Monday, April 6th

Get this, if she's wearing something that isn't particularily cute--she poses. Go figure. Today she stayed at home with Daddy all day and then we planned to go to a track meet, so she is in private school sweatshirt attire that forces me to roll my eyes. The jeans are from Baby Gap as are the Converse shoes. The bow is from Pink Hippo, and you can't see them, but today we did low piggies for the first time and they were CA-UTE. She looked so "grown up", or as grown up as an almost two year old can! Sorry for the junk pic today, I waited until bedtime to take it and there wasn't time to mess with the settings.

Sunday, April 5th

Thanks to the beautiful blizzard, we are still stuck in winter clothes here. Winter clothes that are stretching their "fit" limit. This is the last time you will see Miss Riley in Sweeter Than Chocolate. Bittersweet as it was my favorite line from Gymbo EVER. I think I'm going to be really selfish with this jumper and put it in a shadowbox as use for decoration in her pink and brown room.
Bring on the spring, PLEASE. Before I have to buy more winter clothes. Seriously, Mother Nature--we're at the end of our rope here!

Friday, April 3rd

Hey, Elvis check out Riley's impressive impression. She's just a hunk of burning love today in her Mini Boden hotchpotch shirt, Gymboree Sweeter Than Chocolate jeans, Converse shoes and bow given to us by the sweet LittleBeautyBoutique on etsy.
It's Friday, which means off to the grandparents and we will see you all again on Monday :)

Thursday, April 2, 2009

Oh Thursdays, how I love you. No classes, no responsibilities (other than the one you're staring at), just shopping and playing all day. It's my relaxing day, it's the day I wish for everyday. It's also the night Grey's Anatomy is on, which is the cherry on the top of the awesome FREE ice cream sundae Thursday always presents for me. Wait, scratch that--I hate cherries. It's the Strawberry of the sundae.
Anyway. Today Riley wandered the grocery store and the mall in this little Matilda Jane number. The dress is the Little Apple Knot Dress with the Fiona in Knit underneath it. Boden tights, and the Target boots. Her strawberry on the top of this delectible little outfit is the flowerband from LittleBeautyBoutique on etsy.
The second picture is showing off the coat that finally fits. From Luna Luna Copenhagen, I snagged this baby for half off during the last winter sale on Forest & Zoe. If only ALL Luna Luna came that cheap!
Also, I would like to apologize for the pictures of Riley staring off into space. It's not actually space she's staring at, it's the TV. I know, bad mommy--but it's really the only way I can get a picture of her indoors. I promise she doesn't watch tv ALL day ;)

Wednesday, April 1st

I suppose I could've put Riley in something really atrocious today and called it April Fools, but I forgot so you're stuck with Batik Chic from Baby Gap's fall trans line. Funny thing about "Fall Trans" lines, they totally work for spring transition as well in the midwest. Definitely worth the money.

The bow is from Pink Hippo and the boots are from Target. Those boots are just about at the end of their road, it will be a sad day for me when I am forced to pitch them--best purchase of the season, after all.
